He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Garza and Rosario Garza; his daughter Sonia Armendariz (Robert); his grandson Kahlil Armendariz; and his siblings, Ysidro, Pedro, Antonio Garza, Jessica Galindo and Olivia Holler.
He is survived by: his wife Amelia T. Garza; his sister Mary Ott (Merle); his children, Bernice Hayes, Darlene Coone (Garnet), Syl Garza (Norma) and June Perry; his grandchildren, Amber Sommers (John), Zachary Sutton, Autumn Armendariz, Brandon Coone, Allen Coone (Jasmine), Aaron Krieg (Casey), Dacotah Osborne (Wade) and Addi Perry; and his great grandchildren, Leilani, Zayne, Imani Sommers, Fionn and Riley Krieg. He is also survived by many other extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Honor Flights, Wounded Warriors, Veterans Against Alzheimer's or Tunnel to Towers in memory of Sylvester Garza.
