He was predeceased by: his mother Linda Slater; and his grandparents, Acy, Ana Marchand, James and Ertestine Slater.

He is survived by: his father Michael Slater; his spouse Lianna Slater; his stepmother Charlene Slater; and his siblings, Nancy Lonsberry (Billy), Christina Slay (Ron), Jamie Canova (Frankie), Sarah Thornhill (Blake), James Slater and Tim Slater (Courtney). He is also survived by seven nieces and five nephews.
