Christopher Koss Obituary
Chris Koss, 68, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on October 8, 2023 after a difficult battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Chris was born on April 14, 1955 to Norbert and Nancy (Keitz) Koss in Detroit, Michigan. Chris graduated from Roseville High School in 1973.
I 1970, he met Judith Conti. The two of them both played in Roseville High School’s marching and concert bands. Chris and Judy wed in 1975, going on to have two children, David and Andrew.
Chris’ work eventually brought him and his family to Texas in 1983. His interest in technology and computers led him to pursue a career as a. Technician, culminating in his own business, K.O.S.S. Computers, in 1995. He serviced home desktop devices and large business networks throughout the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. In later years, he became heavily involved in the business networking group, BNI, serving as an area director for several years.He retired from his business in 2021. Chris lent his talent for drumming to various musical groups over the years, playing in the Christian rock band, Stations, the jazz band, Just Jazz, and the choir at St Joseph’s Catholic Church. During his time at St Joseph’s , Chris endeavored to organize an ecumenical Christmas concert, bringing together multiple choirs from Arlington churches, for six years running, to share in the music of the season. He was also part of the orchestra for several city musicals at Grand Prairie’s Uptown Theater. Chris was known for his formidable skills in home improvement, demonstrating an impressive capacity for repairing nearly any household item.He was an ingenious craftsman, constructing several backyard decks, swings, and playhouses for his kids, including a life-size Lincoln Log cabin. He loved making pancakes and waffles with his grandchildren. Every Christmas he decorated the house with hundreds of lights and prepared a large breakfast on Christmas morning.. Anyone who knew Chris knew that he was the most loving father and husband for which a family could ask.
Chris was predeceased by Norbert and Nancy , as well as his brother Joe. He is survived by his wife, Judith; his sons David (Julie) and Andrew (Amaya) ; his grandchildren, Emily, Roscoe, Charlotte, and Marceline; his sisters, Patricia Dumas and Vicky Delia; his sister- in-law Jean; his nephews, Steven Dumas and Brent Arcusa; his nieces, Stacy Dumas, Tara Arcusa, Caroline Vacante, Courtney Koss and Kerriann Koss.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the Michael J Fox Foundation. There will be a celebration of life at the Ruthe Jackson Center in Grand Prairie on Nov 9 at 5:00 pm
