He was predeceased by: his parents, Victoriano Casanas Hoyos and Rosa Elena Eguez; and his brother Jorge Wilfredo Casanas Ortiz. He is survived by: his children, Carlos Arnaldo Casanos Ortiz, Jose Roberto Casanas Ortiz, Maria Magdalena Casanas Ortiz, Jenny Rosa Rios Casanas and Silvia Jovana Casanas Ortiz; and his siblings, Benito Casanas, Anibal Casanas and Gloria Arias Casanas. He is also survived by 15 Grandchildren and 9 Great granchildren.
