“From the messages that Brandon sent, it sounds as though he had schizophrenia. I'm truly sorry for your family and your loss. I wish I could have done something to help. Unfortunately, Dr. Richter was a truly horrible human being, nevertheless I have to admit that he was actually a very skilled ear surgeon. Although I think he had nothing to do directly with Brandon's demise, It makes me very sad to hear about it and I would be happy to hear from his family if it might provide any closure.”

“Hi. Yes, Brandon has paranoid bipolar schizophrenia. I believe he may have thought (the paranoid part) that he had something implanted in his brain during this surgery which is why I think he would have been searching for answers. Thank you for reaching out. I found this on a rare occasion.”

“Hello, I am so sorry to hear of Brandon's passing. I did not know him. However, today I found messages on Facebook that he sent to me in 2016. I go on facebook extremely rarely. Brandon talked about the "surgery" that my "husband" (assuming Harry J. Richter, MD) did on his ear or ears. Unfortunately I never saw these messages. I don't think it would have made a difference, but I feel sad that he was fixated on my "husband". Fortunate for all, Harry Richter died in 2015.”
