He was predeceased by: his parents, Ricard D. Vale and Inga Olsen. He is survived by: his wife Marilou Cox Milner; and his sons, Rick and Steven (Lori). He is also survived by three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to St. Jude's Hospital.
