She was predeceased by: her parents, Wesley Jacks and Bobby Jacks; her son James Whitefield; her stepson Tony Hill; her grandson Miguel Suviez; and her former husband Emmett Ray Whitefield.
She is survived by: her husband Leon; her children, Emmett (Judy Whitefield) and Janet (Tadd Wynne); her stepchildren, Tonja (Ron Glass), Donna Hill-Hanson (J. D.), Lori Hill and Jeffery (Nichole Hill); her siblings, Ann Cole, Wesley Jacks, Jr. and Phil (Donya); and her daughter-in-law Beth Whitefield. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
