He was predeceased by: his parents, Elton Leroy Nelson and Louanna Griffin Nelson; and his sister Thelma Broussard. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Lea Nelson; and his siblings, Elton Nelson, Felton Nelson, Ruth Jones, Linda Burks, Lucille Miller and Lillian Richardson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
