Shirley Simmons Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Simmons of Gonzales, Texas, who passed away on February 13, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Jack Johnson and Frances Marie Cravey Johnson; her husband Walter Kennon Simmons, Sr.; and her siblings, Frankie Johnson, J. L. Johnson and Johnnie Elmer Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Simmons Harkey "Barry", Wanda Simmons, Sanya Simmons and Walter Kennon Simmons, Jr.; and her siblings, Joyce Elaine Johnson and Douglas Charles Johnson "Gina". She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to current CDC, State and local mandates, protective measures regarding social distancing, limited attendance capacity, and use of personal protective masks will be required for the visitation, chapel service and graveside burial rite. Those remotely symptomatic of COVID-19 are politely asked not to attend.
