He was predeceased by: his parents, Camila Oates and Steven Oates; and his brothers, Calvin Oates, Jr. and Steven Oates (Gene). He is survived by: his wife Linda Feagin-Oates; his children, Christopher Oates (Brandie) of Temple and Jill Rager (Anthony) of Temple; his sister Susan Kerns (Ray) of Bedford, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Jacob Rager, Ryan Rager, Cody Rager, Christopher Rager, Jack Oates and Chris Oates. He is also survived by his six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
