He was predeceased by: his parents, James William and Nola Ruth Covey Russell; his wife Patsy Russell; his daughter Tamie Hogue; and his siblings, James Russell, Walter Russell, Elizabeth Russell, Etha Mae Russell, Bonnie Lively and Myrtle Simpson.
He is survived by: his sons, Randy Russell (Bonnie) of Golden and Tony Russell (Sandra) of Golden; his sister Francis Davis of Tyler; his son-in-law Lacy Hogue of Golden; and his friend George Tom Hayes. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
