She was predeceased by: her parents, John Roy and Marion Hester Sparks (Hudspeth); her former husband Billie Newsom; and her brother Johnny Sparks. She is survived by: her husband Marvin Burkhalter; her children, Susan Sewell (Robert), Bill Newsom (Carol) and Ben Newsom (Cherie); her stepchildren, Pam Burkhalter and Brad Burkhalter (Kendra); her grandchildren, Chad, Ames, Chase and Bailey; and her stepgrandchildren, L. J., Jacob, Matt, Lauren and Reagan. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
