In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Kathleen had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Kathleen may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Schmidt and Anna Schmidt; her husband Kenneth Waits; and her stepgrandson Justin Harmon. She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Ishmael (Keith Peacock), Pamela Waits Gomez (Johnny) and Melinda Smith; and her stepdaughter Tammy Belt. She is also survived by 5 grandkids, 12 great grandkids, 3 step grandkids and 9 step great grandkids.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home (200 E Patton Ave, Alvarado, TX 76009). A rosary was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Ann Catholic Church (100 SW Alsbury Blvd, Burleson, TX 76028). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at the Glenwood Cemetery (415 N Pkwy Dr, Alvarado, TX 76009).

“It will be with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to my long-time friend. Kathy and I worked together for many years at Green Bay, in fact, I actually hired her. We kept in close touch over the years, even when she moved back to Nebraska.. With her many trials and tribulations, she remained to me, one of the strongest and kindest women I have even known. I will miss you my friend. Go fly high with the angels, your earthly struggles are gone, and you may finally rest in peace.”
