He is survived by: his wife Mary Katherine Mitchell; his children, Weldon E. Mitchell (Tevyan) and Melissa "Missy" Mitchell Leon (David); and his siblings, James D. Mitchell and Valdena Myer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
