She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Kennedy and Ora D Kennedy; her son Michael Ray Downing of Gladewater, Texas; and her siblings, Floyd Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, Ralph Kennedy, Sherman Kennedy, Oretha Hyden of Gladewater and Luvena Thompson of Gladewater.

She is survived by: her husband Lee Downing of Kilgore, Texas; her children, Josie Atchley (Gary) of Kilgore, Texas and Danny Downing (Marion) of Kilgore, Texas; and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Kennedy of Gladewater, Texas. and Madelyn Kennedy of Gladewater, Texas.. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Texas or HeartsWay Hospice in Longview, Texas.
