He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Clay Wakeland and Mary Massey Wakeland; his wife Jerie Miller Wakeland; and his son Max Wendell Wakeland, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Clay Wakeland (Lois) of Gladewater and Sally Patrick (Darrell) of Gladewater; and his grandchildren, Chris, Melanie, Jessica, Rachel, Sarah and Amy. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
