He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Cannon and Ruby Cannon (Mitchell); his son James Edward Cannon; and his siblings, Jerry Cannon, Shirley Davis and Kathy Matlock (Kate).
He is survived by: his wife Kitty Cannon; his children, Clayton Cannon (Jeran) of Colorado, Spencer Cannon of Colorado City, Linda Cisneros (John) of Houston, Tabitha Vaughn (Bubba) of Gladewater and Heath Cannon of Gilmer; his grandchildren, Brittany Cannon, Brooke Cannon, Hayley Byrom, Jade Williams (Nick), Colton Cannon, Phoenix Robinson, Asphen Cannon, Katelyn Vaughn, Daytona Vaughn, Clayton Vaughn, Alaya Vaughn, Jentry Cannon and Alyssa Cannon; his great grandchildren, Gracelyn Cannon, Berkli Higgins, CJ Cannon, Kane Purlee and Mason Cannon; and his siblings, Ken Cannon (Mary Ann) of Colleyville and Dana Caldwell of Odessa.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the East Mountain Baptist Church (315 E Mountain Rd, Gilmer, TX 75645). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
