It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clayton Russell Mitchell (Gladewater, Texas), born in Vernon, Texas, who passed away on May 29, 2019, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Axie Mitchell; his parents, Clarence Mitchell and Mabel Mitchell White; and his sister Marie Rushing. He is survived by: his daughters, Sheron (Richard Smith), Pam Martin of Longview and Latressa (Brad Watson); and his grandchildren, Wade (Shannon Hagan), Tracie (Steve Resendez), Heidi McPeak, Rodney Carrington, Barry (Paige Stephenson), Holly (Anthony Bonnette), April (Kyle Hayes), Jessica Gostenik, Austin Watson, Lindsey (Dwayne Watson) and Claire (Craig Watson).
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Mitchell's memory be made to the First Christian Church in Gladewater at 309 N. Cotton Street, Gladewater, Texas.
