We are sad to announce that on February 18, 2023, at the age of 90, Bessie Ruth Marvel in Gladewater, Texas, born in Fordyce, Arkansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Sims and Eugenia Sims (Rugg); her husband Alfred Phillip Marvel; her son Stan L. Marvel; and her siblings, Alvin Sims (Francis), J. D. Sims (Vera), Freddie Sims and Margaret "Peggy" Sims.
She is survived by: her children, Richard W. Marvel (Teri) of Katy, Texas and Susan J. Purdy (Marvin) of Big Sandy, Texas; and her daughter-in-law Linda Marvel of Olathe, Kansas. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
