She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Dempsey and Jennie Croft Dempsey; her siblings, Hershel Dempsey and Carrie LaNell Dempsey Summers; her husband Billy "Spooky" Hitt; and the father of her children Dan Buchanan.
She is survived by: her pet Kanga; her daughters, Ginger Bailey (Ricky), Judy Nelson (Jimmy) and Danita Ford (Byron); her grandchildren, Scott Bailey (Allyson), Buck Nelson (Julie), Jenny Dudley, Jobie Howell (James), Kenni Kiraly (Adam), Paul Ford (Jamey) and Cassie Hawthorne (Michael); her great grandchildren, Kari, Cade, Jordan, Briar, Reese, Autumn, Mason, Benton, Emma, Adeline, Weston, Landon, Jet, Sean and Sierra; her niece Doris Brown; and her nephew John Mark Dempsey (Trisha). She is also survived by great nieces, nephew and countless friends.
In lieu of Flowers, the family would like for donations to be made to any of the following: East Texas Alzheimer's Alliance, Noonday Cemetery or West Tyler Baptist Church.
