With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Anne Carter of Gilmer, Texas, who passed away on March 23, 2021 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Simmons and Delia Lou Knight Simmons; and her daughter Charolette Diane Gentry. She is survived by: her children, James Carter, Sr. of Gilmer, Dennis Carter (Tina) of Mt. Pleasant and Debra K. Carter of Gilmer; and her siblings, Joe, Gary Simmons, Jean Clark and Katie Stanley. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
