With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Louis Azell Chevalier of Gilmer, Texas, who passed away on February 7, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Chevalier and Sarah Chevalier (Lindsey); his wife Patricia Chevalier; and his siblings, Foy, Bernard, Waymond, Virgie, Esther, Mildred, Oni, Viola, Wanda, Faynell and Jean.
He is survived by: his children, David Chevalier (Diane) of Gilmer, Mike Chevalier (Melissa) of Gilmer and Charlotte Overstreet (Stan) of Longview; his sister Thurza Blackshear of Carriere, MS; his grandchildren, Kipper Overstreet (Ashley), Kyle Overstreet, Lindsey Overstreet, Amy McKee (Jonathan), Dillon Chevalier (Andrea), Brianne Donaho (Justin) and Emily Chevalier; and his great grandchildren, Logan McKee, Landry McKee, Laurel Chevalier, William Azell Chevalier, Brynlee Donaho, Jace Donaho, Harper Overstreet and Hadley Overstreet.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Croley Funeral Home - Gilmer (305 W Harrison St, Gilmer, TX 75644). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (1122 Pine St, Gilmer, TX 75644). A burial was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at the Kelsey Cemetery (6380 Magnolia Rd, Gilmer, TX 75644).
