He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dock William Settles Jr. and Jannette Faye Cotten Settles; his wife Brenda Kay Phillips; his sons, Philip Ray Settles (Christine) and Michael Dee Settles (Allicia); and his grandchildren, Megan Settles, Brittany Yates (Seth), Alyssa Fairbrother (Phillip), Madelyn Coulter (Ty), Mikaelyn Settles, Michael D. Settles Jr. and McKinzee Settles.
