Ellis Hagler Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ellis Hagler of Gilmer, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 1, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Buford Hagler and Martha Ophelia Shaw Hagler; his wife Mary Jo Hagler; his son Rodney Hagler; and his siblings, Granville Hagler, Verl Hagler, Johnie Hagler, Geneva McKinley and Glendaree McNamee.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Carpenter (David Moody), Vernon Eugene Hagler, Paula Tucker (Kevin) and Grace Isaacs (John C.); his siblings, Donald Hagler, Lindley Hagler and Francis Young; his grandchildren, Keith Goddard (Molly), Dane Ellis Goddard (Angela), Jennifer Thompson (Kyle), Chase Hagler, Peyton Sparks (Ted), Lindsey Downs (Ken), Chelsey Watts (Blake), Edward Isaacs (Shannon) and Adam Isaacs (Aubrie); and his great grandchildren, Nathan Goddard, Hannah Goddard, Kayden Hagler, Gage Sparks, Kruz Sparks, Colt Ellis Sparks, Clark Watts, Emmeline Watts, William Ellis Watts, Howard Watts, Jack Ellis Thompson, Theodore Isaacs, Ellis Downs, Kaylee Goddard, Robyn Goddard and Gabriella Goddard.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McWhorter Funeral Home (1074 TX-300, Gilmer, TX 75645). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
