He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleve Gipson and Doshie Gipson (Jones). He is survived by: his wife Dottie Lee Gipson of Gilmer; his children, Gary S. Gipson (Felecia) of Gilmer and Sheri L. Gipson (Jeffrey Kessler) of Highland Ranches, CO; and his grandchildren, Courtney, Colby, Cameron Gipson, Lacy, Garrett Adkins, Hunter Hux, David "Hunter", Darcy, Devon Kessler, Andrew Carlino and Ryan Gipson-Halstead.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Gilmer's scholarship fund.
