She was predeceased by: her parents, James Clarence and Lucille Shaw Ritchie; her husband F. D. "Sam" Sams; her siblings, Shirley Williams and Herbert Ritchie; and her grandson Brandon Sams.
She is survived by: her children, Phyllis Constantine (Jim), Douglas Sams (Deborah), David Sams and Madalyn Sams Gunn. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
