He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Henry and Lillian Carroll Thompson; his wife Faye Slocum; his sister Hughlene Stokes; and his son Billy Thompson, Jr..
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Martie Leigh Thompson, Danica Hammarsten (Will), Rachael Thompson, Ashley Thompson, Will Thompson, Ben Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Mandee Tyner, Jake Atchley (April) and Levi Thompson; his great grandchildren, Danyelle Thompson, Ian, Layla Atchley, Raylee Faye, Saydee Mae Meuir, Seth Ray, Gunner and Sawyer Tyner; and his great great grandchild Lucy Cook.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 9th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Croley's (305 W Harrison St, Gilmer, TX 75644). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Little Mound Missionary Baptist Church (11746 FM 49, Big Sandy, TX 75755).
