He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy "Dot" Bates; his parents, Feddie Hart and Sevie Hart; his siblings, Dorothy Hackler and Royce Hart; and his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Hart of Forney, Rachel Hart of Gilmer, Jeannine Hart of Plano and Kathryn Duncan of Pittsburg.
He is survived by: his son John; his daughter-in-law Nancy Hart of Tyler; his daughter Carol; his son-in-law Ron Tevebaugh of Longview; his grandchildren, Michael (Megan Hart) of Tyler, Sallie Hart of Tyler, Ashley (Travis Cleere) of Anderson and Brandi (David Horton) of Houston; and his siblings, Jewell Matkin of Lindale, James Melvin and Curtis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other close relatives.
