He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Henry Placke, Sr. and Flora Belle Stork Placke (Stork); and his siblings, Rose Marie Placke and Robert Placke. He is survived by: his wife Texene Zipprian Placke of Giddings; his children, Michael Zipprian (Lisa) of Porter, Richard Zipprian of Corpus Christi, Kevin Placke of Arkansas, Teresa Zipprian Tuma of San Antonio, Kimberly Placke (Scott) of Waco and Elizabeth Placke Drosche (Shane) of La Grange; his grandchildren, Kristina Zipprian Haggard (Mike), Rusty Zipprian, Kayla Zipprian, James Zipprian, Steven Placke (Allyson), Kaitlyn Tuma, Christian Bradley (Amber), Kassidy Tuma, Dylan Placke, Alexia Jones and Kailee Jones; and his sister Callie Placke Roark. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Oscar's name to Hospice Brazos Valley in La Grange or Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings.
