She was predeceased by: her parents, Santos Vasquez and Lena Vasquez (Martinez); her husband John Escalante; her son John Nicholas Escalante (Chris Lavina) of Maine; and her brother Jesse Vasquez.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lisa Escalante of Austin, Catherine Escalante of Austin and Stephanie Escalante (Ramiro Alvarado) of Pflugerville; her grandson Ethan Hollon of Pflugerville; and her siblings, Nieves (Tony Camacho) of Irving, Alice Lopez of Austin, Vicki Martinez of Austin, Susie Vasquez (Greg Coates), Veronica Vasquez of Austin and Mary Jane Vasquez of Florida. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
Contributions to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin, a cause close to her heart, are appreciated.
