She was predeceased by: her daughters, Lillian Elizabeth Castro and Daniela Anahi Castro; and her nephew Sabian Jace Castro. She is survived by: her mother Juana Castro (Cardenas) of Giddings; her husband Prudencio Zavala of Giddings; her children, Ayden Andrew Zavala of Giddings and Veida Dolores Zavala of Giddings; and her siblings, Juan "J. J." Castro of SanAntonio, Jessica Bock (Michael) of Giddings, Chriselda Castro of Giddings and Juan Jayme Castro (Kymberleigh Starkey) of Giddings. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
