He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Garrett and Ruby Lee Garrett (Reid); his wife Ruby Garrett; his siblings, Irene, Bobby and Gene; and his former wife Peggy Walker Garrett.
He is survived by: his son Johnny Garrett (Karen) of Gholson; his grandchildren, Donna Walter (Dennis) of McGregor, Sherry Franklin (Dywayne) of Gholson, Kyann Graham (Scott) of Houston, Russell Lang (Erin) of Buda and Carl Norwood of Dallas; his great grandchildren, Leslie, Katie, Emily, Parker, Ashlynn, Caitlyn, Hailey, Aubrey and Emmy; and his great great grandchildren, Jesse, Aiden and Izzy.
