He was predeceased by: his parents, Alonzo J. Gleason and Luella Stouffer Gleason; and his siblings, Alonzo "Bud" Gleason, Katherine Gleason Dick and Donna Gleason Reynolds.

He is survived by: his spouse Jean Crawford Gleason of Estherville; his daughters, Melinda Gleason Hester (Larry Hester) of Round Rock and Susan Gleason Spreier (Tim Spreier) of Willow Park, Texas; his grandchildren, Nicholas Hester (Hernandez), Maggie Spreier Dorrell (Chris Dorrell) and Kenneth Robert Spreier; and his great grandchildren, Layne and Luella "Lulu" Dorrell.
