It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Ann Van Dermark in Georgetown, Texas, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on May 27, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid Joyce Ann Van farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Joyce Ann Van is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Reva and Robert D. of Dallas; and her brother Robert M. of Orlando, Florida.. She is survived by: her nephew Steven M. Van Dermark (Theresa) of Orlando; and her cousins, Bruce Bartels (Romana) of Jaffrey, Robin Shaffer of Dallas and Meredith Sawyer of Alexandria, Minnesota..
In lieu of flowers, it was Joyce's desire that donations be sent to The Dallas Zoo, the Georgetown Animal Shelter, the Christian Science Society of Georgetown, a favorite charity, or that a tree be planted in her name with the Arbor Day Foundation.
