He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank R. Carlile and Bertha Mae Carlile; and his siblings, Vern, Irene, Erlene and Sally.

He is survived by: his former wife Sue Ann Dannels; his wife Anne; his children, Rusty (Mary Ellen) of Rolla, MO, Kevin (Beth) of Rolla, MO, Debra (Ed) of Houston, TX, Carla (Gene) of Georgetown, TX and Beth (Gary) of The Colony, TX; his grandchildren, Jennifer and Christopher; his grandchildren-in-law, Sean and Jennifer; and his grandchildren, Liam, Chloe, Charis, Grayson and Noah. He is also survived by several loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Jim also worked tirelessly with Lions International/Buchanan Dam Lions, as their President, collecting eyeglasses to donate to others in need, and spent many, many weekends grilling Lions Burgers, and selling them to raise funds.
