He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Karen Miles and E. S. Miles (Easy); his wife Terri; his child Shelly; his brother Allan; his sons, Terry Miles, Clayton Miles (Maggie) and Shelton Miles (Shelly); his grandchildren, Meredith Jennings (Gage), Andy Miles (Christine) and Chase Miles (Sarah); his great grandchildren, Carter, Colton, Kylee, Michael, Logan and Chance; his sister-in-law Debbie; and his daughter-in-law Janice. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made in Shelton's honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
