He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeryl Thorp and Cora Thorp; his grandparents, Samual, Joycie Farmer, Daniel and Mary Coye Thorp; and his brother James P. Thorp.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Thorp; his daughter Lori De Jong; his son-in-law Eric De Jong of Georgetown; his granddaughter Michaela De Jong of Arlingon; his brothers, Jeryl Thorp and Del Thorp of Sierra Vista; and also Rick Norman of Midlothian, Texas..
