She was predeceased by: her parents, Ramon Zapata and Cristina Zapata (Reyes); and her siblings, Natalia Castaneda, Geneva Zapata, Lena Cabrera, Eugene Zapata, Daniel Zapata, Trinidad Zapata, Tomas Zapata, Ramon Zapata Jr. and May Guerrero.
She is survived by: her close friends, Mackey Alvarez and Cindy Hatfield; her children, Elizabeth Salazar of Pasadena, TX and Vincent Barboza of George West; her siblings, Richard Zapata of Clegg, David Zapata of Baytown, TX, Bennie Castaneda (Arnold) of Victoria, TX and Becky Gamboa (Alfredo Gonzales) of Freer, TX.; and her grandchildren, Claudia, Clarissa, Clara, Angelina, Vincent, Ashlyn and Alexis.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rose's memory to the George West Education Foundation and the South Texas Children's Home.
