He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Edgar Lane and Allie Lane (Umphres); his grandparents, Walter Ernest, Lula Frances Lane (Smith), Malachi Lemar and Mary Theresa Umphres (Bartlett); and his siblings, Nelda Pawelek, Rufus "Dude" Lane Jr., Chuck "Jack" Lane, Billy Lane and Steve Lane.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lane; his children, Kathy Jo Lane Wiles and Thomas Dean Lane; his stepchildren, James N. Whitis Jr., Tammy Lynn Garza and Tiffany Kay Whitis; his siblings, Daryl Lane and Aletha Lane; his grandchildren, Crystal Davis, Chelsea Welever, Ryan Lane and Rylee Lane; his stepgrandchildren, Kaylan Hood, Kristan Whitis, Allison Garza, Anthony Garza, Courtney Gill, Shawn Gill and Ty Gill; his great grandchildren, Zara Engles Davis, Easton Welever, Holden Welever, Declan Welever and Matthew Hood; and his friend Mildred Williams.
