He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward Whitman and Mary Alice Whitman (Vance). He is survived by: his sisters, Alice Michelle Chapa and Charlene A. Whitman; his niece Angela Marie Lindholm; and his great-nieces, Taylor Marie Fisher and Emilee Reese Fisher.
