She was predeceased by : her parents, John Newton and Lora Oretta Burgin; her grandson Tristan Allen Geffert; and her sisters, Martha Williams and Mary Tyra Jinnette.

She is survived by : her husband Gary Childers; her son John Wesley; her daughter-in-law Tammy Childers of Taft; her daughter Lora Lea; her son-in-law Gene Geffert of George West; her grandchildren, Taylor Geffert of George West and Trevor (Mary Rabke) of Weatherford; and her siblings, James Burgin (Barbara) and Nelda Wotipka.

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 8th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church - Taft (420 Green Ave, Taft, TX 78390). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, June 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Taft (420 Green Ave, Taft, TX 78390). A burial was held on Saturday, June 8th 2024 at the Palms Memorial Gardens Cemetery (Portland, TX 78374).
