She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Sample and Noba Dean Sample of Geneva; and her husband John Montgomery. She is survived by: her children, Julie of Houston, Jeffery of Geneva and Jay; and her grandchildren, Madelyn Montgomery, Jack Montgomery, Emma Montgomery and Jenna Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Luana's name to Myrtle Springs Cemetery, c/o Lynn Lindsey, 110 Lindsey Lane, San Augustine, Texas 75972.
