He was predeceased by: his parents, Leah Estelle (Gullage) and Ward Van Phillips, Sr.; his wife Norma Louise Phillips; and his siblings, Ward Van Phillips, Jr. and Lola Walters.
He is survived by: his sons, Glynn Phillips (Rita) of Rockdale and Herbert Van Phillips (Wanda) of Milano; and his grandchildren, Daniel Phillips, Danielle Ramos (Tony), Denton Phillips, Chris Phillips (Bell), Brandy Phillips and Megan Turner (Erick).
