With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virgil Phinney Jr. of Gatesville, Texas, born in Bangor, Maine, who passed away on December 22, 2024 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Virgil departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Virgil. Though Virgil may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his father Virgil E. Phinney Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Lillian Phinney; his sisters, Geraldine Guerrette (Dwight) and Angel Freeman (Richard); and his children, John (Lisa), Emily (Damon) and Andrew. He is also survived by four nieces and their families; seven grandchildren and their families; six great-grandchildren; and several stepchildren and grandchildren.
