He is survived by: his wife Leonora Ortega; his daughters, Elizabeth Medart (Barry) and Karen Benjegerdes (Joel); his brother Manuel Esparza; his granddaughters, Frances Casanover, Julie Collins (Brian), Katie Homan (Garrett) and Megan Wiegreffe (Wesley); and his great grandchildren, Logan Casanover, Evelyn, Connor Collins, Harper and Madeline Homan.
In lieu of flowers, Lupe's family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
