She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Henry and Mattie Olean Bates Faubion; her children, JoAnne Bates Akers, Sammy Don Bates and Larry Truman Bates; her granddaughter Leigh Anne Huntington; her sister Lena Wynell Blanchard; and her nephew Michael Blanchard.
She is survived by: her sisters, Marsha Kaye Gurley and Glenda Gail Berry (Lloyd); her grandchildren, Tomi Akers, Wendy Carter, Kitsy Thompson, Patrick Akers, Mistina Picciano, Tiffany Bates, Ashley Vann, Bobby Bates, Michael Bates, Lori Kompas, Austin Bates, Branden Bates, Aaron Bates (Veronica), Deanna Bates and Taylor Bates; and her nieces and nephews, Kimberly Haines (Mark), Tammi Shoaf (Ray), Tim Blanchard (Sheri), Tom Blanchard (Tammy), Leisa Bland, Deana Stewart (Doug), Pam Edwards, Chip Edwards, Lorne Culp and Jason Culp (Dulce). She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Scott's Funeral Home (2425 E Main St, Gatesville, TX 76528). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Evergreen-Bundrant Cemetery.
