He was predeceased by: his former wife Shirley McCorkle; his parents, Vida McCorkle and Earl McCorkle; his siblings, Evelyn McCorkle, W. C. McCorkle, Truman McCorkle, Monroe McCorkle, Garland McCorkle, Valeta Barron, Juanita McCorkle, Bob McCorkle and June Garner; and his son Doug McCorkle.
He is survived by: his daughter Vicki Sheffield (Scott); his daughter-in-law Denise McCorkle; and his grandchildren, Chris Flocke (Teresa), Erin Eddings (Waylon), Stacy Webb (Bubba), Jonathan Flocke (Ronda), Lori Henson, Dyanna Starling (Brad), Lisa Brooks (Adam) and Michael Sheffield. He is also survived by twenty-two great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
