He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleveland Sanders and Ruth Smith Sanders; and his siblings, James Sanders, Harvey Lee Sanders, Verna Ruth Sanders and Steven Roger Sanders.

He is survived by: his siblings, Cleveland Sanders, Jr. (Gloria), Leo T. Sanders (Virginia), Bertha Beckworth, Mack Sanders, Floria Young, Billy G. Sanders (Telena), Barbie Sanders Palmer, Carolyn Rosborough (Michael) and Ebbie D. Sanders. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
