She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Cook and Lavanah Cook; her husband George Murray; and her siblings, Elvin Cook, Alvin Cook, Willard Cook, George Cook, Carrie Warren, Willow Gohlson, Pauline Christian, Bessie Smith and Robbie Carpenter.

She is survived by: her daughter Lanell Strahan; her grandchildren, Brenton Strahan (Terrin) and Jana Strahan-Youngblood (Joseph); and her great grandchild Braylee Strahan.
