He was predeceased by: his parents, James William Lloyd Shires and Mattie Bell Godwin Shires; and his sisters, Patricia Loper and Emma Holt. He is survived by: his wife Emma Shires; his daughters, Patricia Smith (Casey), Sherri Lewing and Melinda Cameron; his siblings, Melvin Shires (Mara), Jeannie Hopkins (Ronald) and Marvin Jordan (Debbie); his grandchildren, Devon Johnson, Breeanna Cameron, Nicholas Cameron, Savannah Cameron, Emerald Green and Mysti Green; his great grandchildren, Paislee Gipson and Isabella Eastridge; his son-in-law Lonnie Hassel; and his cousin Joe Buddie Hudson. He is also survived by Numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
